I wish for all participating restaurants to experience great moments when they present their menus to their guests and for all guests to not only enjoy their meal but also to discover a new culinary landscape. The festival starts on 20th January and bookings can be made through the website or by emailing I hope that all those who read the World Gourmet Festival guide but who cannot visit a restaurant this time round get inspired by reading about what other food cultures have to offer.

Please help spread the word by forwarding the guide to your gourmet friends who might be interested to book a table in one of the restaurants.

I would also like to thank all the supporters who have helped me bring this festival to life. Gianfranco Chiarini - the festival ambassador - with his endless energy and enormous culinary skills has been an ongoing support for the festival. Valeska Idarraga and FernandoParedes helped enormously to bring the idea to life in Spain, Hadassah Patterson and Frankie Harvey provided great help in the United States, Wolfgang Neubauer, Bernd Sauter and Joerg Lehmann put the concept in the German and Austrian gastronomic world and Chamintha Jayasinghe opened culinary treasures on Sri Lanka.

The world has so many culinary landscapes still to be discovered and this festival is a first baby step on this journey!
