The WGS Best Plate Challenge

1a

The WGS Best Plate Challenge has started! World Gourmet Society president Matthias Tesi Baur has challenged the world's most imaginative and creative chefs inviting them to prepare and showcase their best plate in a beautiful and creative video.

All videos accepted by the WGS will be presented to our community of more than 50,000 global gourmands and food critics. The overall winner/s will be announced and honoured in October 2017.
Participation is easy!

To enter, chefs will create a high-quality video, of no more than 3 minutes using their favourite camera – from smartphone to technical/professional support.
The video should showcase the high level of creativity, original ideas, skills, and cooking art of the chef. The culinary heritage of the chef's country of origin, the team in the kitchen, their techniques, the kitchen, and ingredients are all excellent inclusions for the short story as they create their most representative and distinctive plate.

Importantly, it should be fun to watch, be authentic, and maybe even surprise the viewer. Use of music with legal rights is acceptable.
The video can be in the language the chef prefers. If required, the WGS team in London will provide a fee-for-service translation service for subtitles in English.
The Challenge offers a wonderful opportunity for chefs to present themselves, their teams, and their restaurants to the international market, so include your name, restaurant name, and web address in the video to improve your visibility on a global scale.

Submission of a video to the WGS Best Plate Challenge is free.
All accepted videos will be presented to a world-class jury appointed by the World Gourmet Society. The jury will nominate the most interesting videos. Winners will be specifically honoured worldwide to 50,000 gourmands and in a press release to over 1,000 food journalists.
To be accepted, a video needs to be unique, show originality, a dedication to high-level cuisine, and include an educational or surprise component. Most of all, the video should be fun and entertaining for the audience.
Videos have already been received from Italy, France and Belgium, with Bangladesh, Brazil, Mexico, the USA, and Israel almost ready to submit additional videos.

Videos will be available on the WGS web page in the order they are received, and on the WGS Facebook page.
Absolute deadline for submissions: 30 September 2017. Please note that the sooner the video is submitted, the more people will have the opportunity to view and naturally share it around the world.
