Nato a Vittoria (RG) nel 1959 da una famiglia di contadini e pastori, Salvo Nicastro nutre fin da piccolo una passione per la cucina, la famiglia e la convivialità. Dalla mamma impara a fare il pane, le focacce e le paste fresche, dal padre a lavorare e coltivare la terra e riconoscerne suoi frutti.
